Candidates can withdraw nominations till May 17: Chief Electoral Officer

Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C on Wednesday said that after the scrutiny of nomination papers for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the nomination papers of 355 candidates have been found valid. A total of 466 candidates filed 598 nominations for the 13 Lok Sabha seats in the state from May 7 to May 14.
Providing further details, CEO Sibin C said that in Gurdaspur, 40 candidates had filed 60 nomination papers, out of which the papers of 29 candidates were found valid.
In Amritsar, 43 candidates filed 53 nomination papers, out of which the papers of 33 candidates were found valid.
In Khadoor Sahib, 35 candidates filed 43 nomination papers, out of which the papers of 30 candidates were found valid.
In Jalandhar, 27 candidates filed 35 nomination papers, out of which the papers of 20 candidates were found valid.
In Hoshiarpur, 23 candidates filed 27 nomination papers, out of which the papers of 19 candidates were found valid.
In Anandpur Sahib, 41 candidates filed 56 nomination papers, out of which the papers of 29 candidates were found valid.
In Ludhiana, 57 candidates filed 70 nomination papers, and the nominations of 44 candidates were found valid.
In Fatehgarh Sahib, 23 candidates filed 33 nomination papers, out of which the nominations of 15 candidates were found valid.
In Faridkot, 34 candidates filed 41 nomination papers, out of which the papers of 30 candidates were found valid.
In Ferozepur, 41 candidates filed 48 nomination papers, out of which the papers of 33 candidates were found valid.
In Bathinda, 30 candidates filed 40 nomination papers, out of which the nominations of 20 candidates were found valid.
In Sangrur, 38 candidates filed 43 nomination papers, out of which the papers of 26 candidates were found valid.
In Patiala, 34 candidates filed 49 nomination papers, out of which the papers of 27 candidates found valid.
Sibin C said that the withdrawal of nominations can be done by May 17, after which the final list of candidates contesting for the 13 Lok Sabha seats will be released.

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਚੋਣ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸਿਬਿਨ ਸੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ-2024 ਲਈ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ 355 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਸਹੀ ਪਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ 13 ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਸੀਟਾਂ ਲਈ 7 ਮਈ ਤੋਂ 14 ਮਈ ਤੱਕ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 466 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 598 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ।
ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆ ਸਿਬਿਨ ਸੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਤੋਂ 40 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 60 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 29 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਤੋਂ 43 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 53 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 33 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਖਡੂਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ 35 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 43 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 30 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਜਲੰਧਰ ਤੋਂ 27 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 35 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 20 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰਪੁਰ ਤੋਂ 23 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 27 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 19 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਆਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ 41 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 56 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 29 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਤੋਂ 57 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 70 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 44 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਫਤਿਹਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ 23 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 33 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 15 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਫਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਤੋਂ 34 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 41 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 30 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਤੋਂ 41 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 48 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 33 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਤੋਂ 30 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 40 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 20 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਸੰਗਰੂਰ ਤੋਂ 38 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 43 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 26 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਤੋਂ 34 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ 49 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 27 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਸਿਬਿਨ ਸੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 17 ਮਈ ਤੱਕ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਏ ਜਾ ਸਕਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਕਿ 13 ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਸੀਟਾਂ ਲਈ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਚੋਣ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ।
