Today, leaders of the Congress party, led by S. Pargat Singh, Brinder Singh Dhillon, Smit Singh, Angad Singh, ,Khushbhaaz Jattana and Udayveer singh Dhillon, gathered in front of the Haryana Chief Minister’s residence to protest against the BJP-led central government and the Haryana government for their alleged use of unfair tactics to obstruct farmers from exercising their right to protest peacefully in Delhi.
During the protest, S. Pargat Singh expressed grave concern over the government’s actions, likening them to authoritarian regimes, emphasizing that such behavior has no place in a democratic India and he said India is not Nazi Germany the way BJP is using unfair means on its own citizens. He urged the BJP and Chief Minister Khattar to cease their actions against the farmers immediately.
Brinder Singh Dhillon accused the BJP of consistently neglecting Punjab’s interests and attempting to sow discord in the region for political gain nationwide by potraying Farmers as anti-national. He warned against turning Punjab into another Kashmir where they have murdered democracy and are blatantly violating Human rights ,He also urged the central and state governments to allow farmers to proceed with their protest in Delhi unhindered.
Jattana highlighted the alleged use of pellet guns by the Haryana government against farmers, resulting in severe injuries. He demanded accountability and the immediate arrest of those responsible for such actions.
Smit Singh criticized the AAP government in Punjab, accusing it of aligning with the BJP and failing to speak out against the injustices faced by farmers. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was allowing BJP to shoot at People of Punjab in Punjab and shut down internet of peaceful farmers protesting.
Sukhwinder Singh Kotli emphasized that our constitution grants us the fundamental right to protest, and the BJP has no authority to impede farmers from exercising this right. He strongly condemned the use of tear gas, rubber bullets, and pellet guns against the farmers.
Collectively, the leaders vowed to continue protesting until the BJP-led central government and Chief Minister Khattar put an end to their oppressive tactics against the farmers. They warned of further demonstrations, including potential protests outside the residence of Prime Minister Modi, if their demands are not met.
