Ridiculing Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for giving deceptive and exaggerated data relating to employing the unemployed youth in Punjab, the Leader of the Opposition, Partap Singh Bajwa Tuesday dared the CM to supply details of the employment beneficiaries.
Notably, the Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Monday claimed the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab has provided 50,000 govt jobs to youth in the 32 months of its tenure.
“Punjab CM has been delivering misleading statements relating to providing jobs to the unemployed youth in the state. I have prompted Mann on various occasions including in the assembly sessions to supply details – fathers’ names and villages – of the employment beneficiaries. However, he failed terribly to furnish the same information. What stopped him from giving details if he was speaking the truth,” Bajwa asked.
Senior Congress Leader Bajwa said that the protest demonstrations by the unemployed youth have escalated ever since the AAP got hold of power. Only two days back, members of the 1158 Assistant Professors and Librarians Front Punjab were badly beaten up by the police in Sangrur while protesting against CM. They were demanding the appointment of the remaining 411 candidates.
Bajwa said that before the assembly elections in 2022, the AAP vowed to implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). This promise of the AAP has proven to be hollow like many other promises so far. Despite intensified agitations by government employees, the AAP government still has not implemented the OPS.
“The people of Punjab have now been aware that the CM Mann is a pathological liar. Delivering fraudulent and insincere statements has become his routine. The people of Punjab barely trust him any longer,” said Bajwa.
